Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ImpactChat ("the Service") at impactchat.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ImpactChat is a mentorship platform where mentees book coffee chat sessions with mentors. Each session is tied to a charitable donation made by the mentee to a nonprofit organization of the mentor's choosing, processed through Every.org. ImpactChat does not collect or process payments directly.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use ImpactChat. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. User Accounts

You sign in via LinkedIn OAuth. You are responsible for:

• The accuracy of the profile information you provide
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account

5. Mentor Responsibilities

If you register as a mentor, you agree to:

• Provide accurate professional information
• Honor accepted session bookings
• Respond to booking requests in a timely manner
• Not accept sessions with the intent to cancel after donation is made

6. Mentee Responsibilities

If you book a session as a mentee, you agree to:

• Complete the charitable donation as committed when booking
• Show up for confirmed sessions
• Treat mentors with respect and professionalism

7. Donations

All charitable donations are processed by Every.org, an independent nonprofit. ImpactChat does not collect, hold, or process donation funds. By making a donation, you agree to Every.org's terms and policies.

Donations are non-refundable once processed. ImpactChat is not responsible for donations made to incorrect organizations due to user error.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Manipulate platform statistics or leaderboard rankings
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service to spam or harass other users

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and code on ImpactChat is owned by ImpactChat. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your bio and profile information), but grant ImpactChat a license to display it on the platform.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

ImpactChat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of mentorship sessions. We are not responsible for the actions of mentors or mentees on the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ImpactChat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.

Upon account deletion, your personal information (name, email, photo, LinkedIn URL) is removed and your account is anonymized. Session records are retained in anonymized form to preserve platform statistics and donation history.

If you re-register using the same LinkedIn account, you will have the option to restore your anonymized session history. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of ImpactChat after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
