ImpactChat ("we", "us", or "our") operates impactchat.io, a platform that connects mentors and mentees through coffee chat sessions that fund charitable organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with LinkedIn, we receive:

• Name and profile photo
• Email address
• LinkedIn profile URL
• Professional headline and company

2.2 Session Data

We store session records including scheduled time, NGO selected, donation amount, and session status to operate the platform and display your session history.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To match mentors and mentees and facilitate bookings
• To process and verify charitable donations via Every.org
• To send transactional emails (booking requests, confirmations, donation receipts)
• To display leaderboard and platform statistics

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
• Every.org — charitable donation processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, we anonymize your personal data:

• Your name, email, profile photo, and LinkedIn URL are removed from your profile
• Your session ratings are permanently deleted

Session records (dates, donation amounts, NGO names) are retained in anonymized form to maintain accurate platform statistics and donation history. These records are not linked to your personal identity after deletion.

Account restoration: If you re-register with the same LinkedIn account, your anonymized session history can be restored to your new profile. This is optional — you will be prompted during re-registration.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, row-level security on our database, and server-side authentication token handling.

7. Children's Privacy

ImpactChat is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ImpactChat after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
